About FilmCan

FilmCAN's goal Is to be the premier online resource for the discussion and promotion of Canadian film culture. We aim to spotlight the best of Canadian and international cinema through critical analysis and by providing immediate, digital access to films and visual media. Our primary areas of focus are independent cinema and those artists attempting to push the boundaries of both the form and audience of Canadian film.

Content

Launched in September 2004, FilmCAN is frequently updated between quarterly releases and welcomes Canadian and international films, media, and articles that promote cinematic and cultural contextualization and encourage an exchange of ideas.

FilmCAN does not guarantee coverage of any film or artist, and readily admits to a bias naturally borne from the personal view of its writers. We encourage all readers to voice their thoughts on Canadian and international cinema, as well as our particular coverage, through the following means:

I. BlogfilmCAN blog
Visit the BLOG SECTION of the site to voice your thoughts by responding to current threads or starting your own ? right now.

II. Join the teamwritingfor@filmcan.org
Be it an incensed review, link to a cool story on the net, or a bleary eyed re-examination of the complete ouevre of Carl Theodore Dreyer, we encourage you to send us your ideas for content.

III. Video Storiesvideo@filmcan.org
The FilmCAN PODcast is free and always on the lookout for cool new alternative media. Usually shorter is better, but we?ll consider everything. Please get in touch with us first by email before you send any media. FilmCAN is not responsible for any unsolicited files it receives.

IV. Event Newsevents@filmcan.org
